یکی از شایعترین نقاط بدن انسان که نسج از دست میدهد،
دندان است. به دلایل مختلف از جمله تروما، تومورها، برخی بیماریهای
مادرزادی وداروها ممکن است بدن برخی نسجها را از دست بدهد و نواقصی در آن
ایجاد شود. اما در ناحیه فکوصورت به دلیل نوع بافتی که وجود دارد، بسیار
شایع است. انسان از قدیم به فکر این بوده است که وقتی نسجی از دست میرود،
آن را ترمیم کند. روشهای مختلفی پیشنهاد شده و مواد مصنوعی جایگزین و
پروتزها به وجود آمده است، تا بتوانند نسج را جایگزین کنند.
آنها نیز
مزایایی دارند که طی سالیان مورد استفاده قرار گرفتهاند و در حال حاضر نیز
کاربرد دارند، اما آن روشها همه مصنوعی هستند یا باید پیوند داده شوند که
احتمال عفونت و رد شدن آنها از سوی بدن نیز وجود دارد و روشها پیچیده و
گران قیمت هستند. اما سلولهای بنیادی این خاصیت را دارند که میتوان از
سلولهای بدن فرد، همان بافتی که وجود داشته است را به وجود آورد، جایگزین و
بازسازی کرد.
سلولهای بنیادی چگونه به بافتهای مختلف بدن تمایز پیدا میکنند؟ این
مساله موضوع اصلی علم سلولهای بنیادی است. نسوج مختلف بدن از جمله محیط
دهان و تمایزآن به سمت سلولی که میخواهیم، مانند استخوان، غضروف، عضله، رگ
خونی یا هر عضودیگری، تکنولوژی است که در جهان به دست آمده است.
یعنی
امروز دانشمندان و محققانی که در این زمینه فعالیت میکنند، میتوانند از
سلولهای پایه تکثیر کنند و سلول بنیادی را به سمت سلولی که نیاز دارند،
هدایت کنند. این حوزه بسیار در حال پیشرفت بوده و اتفاقا در حوزه فک و صورت
بیشترین پیشرفت را داشته است و شاید بتوان گفت چون بیشترین نیاز به آن
وجود داشته با پیشرفت بیشتری همراه شده است.
علم سلول بنیادی و به ویژه زمینه فک و صورت، در کشور ما چه پیشرفتهایی داشته است؟ در
کشور ما نیز تلاشهای بسیاری صورت گرفته است، هنوز کاملا ارگانیزه نشده
است اما خوشبختانه ستاد سلولهای بنیادی معاونت فناوری ریاست جمهوری، به
این منظور کمیتهای را تشکیل داده است و این سمینار نیز متعاقب تشکیل آن
کمیته توسط دانشگاه علوم پزشکی تهران و مرکز تحقیقات جراحی فکوصورت برگزار
شده است. ما امیدواریم این سمینار بتواند سطح این علم را در کشور ما
افزایش دهد. اساتید نیز در این سمینار ایدههای خود را با یکدیگر مطرح
میکنند.
آیا ایران این توانایی را دارد که در زمینه سلولهای بنیادی به قطبی علمی تبدیل شده و مرجعیت علمی پیدا کند؟ اتفاقا
ما در این زمینه دارای مزیت نسبی هستیم. شاید ما در برخی حوزهها برای
رسیدن به مرجعیت علمی فاصله داشته باشیم اما در این زمینه چون مدتها است
که شروع شده و حجم قابل توجهی نیروی انسانی ارزشمند تربیت شده،
آزمایشگاههای خوبی تجهیز شده و تجربی خوبی به دست آمده است، فاصله کمی
برای رسیدن به مرجعیت علمی داریم. من هم از افرادی که در زمینه سلولهای
بنیادی ایدهای دارند، تقاضا میکنم با ستاد سلولهای بنیادی و سایر
